Shoulder Savvy – A Pilates approach to movement assessment, mobility and motion
What it is
“Shoulder Savvy” is a workshop with the intention of creating not only a better understanding of shoulder motion, but also learning ways to assess and interpret shoulder motion. Then onto strategies on choosing, programming and applying exercises based on our learnings in the Pilates studio. From what and when to apply for mobility and strengthening techniques, to incorporating these approaches into the Pilates method and ultimately building skill sets around that.
Where I will utilise techniques from my learnings with my clients, studies in the Pilates method, current research and the Functional Range Systems.

Basic anatomy of the shoulder
Understanding and analysis of kinematic motion of the shoulder complex
Exercises for promoting shoulder movement
Relationship of mobility vs strength techniques and how to incorporate them into our programming.
Exploration of exercises for shoulder mobility, recruitment and proprioception
